Special Olympics Wyoming is celebrating 50 years. That's 50 years of sports training and athletic competition, year-round, for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. In Wyoming, more than 1,600 athletes take part in the programs that involve the services of more than 1,000 volunteers and coaches.
Wyoming became involved in Special Olympics in 1972 when the first Wyoming Special Olympics Summer Games were held at Natrona County High School. Special Olympics Wyoming was incorporated in January of 1973 and the first Winter Games were held in Jackson, in 1978.
Donate $50 to help us reach our much-needed critical funds. Our is goal $50,000. We need your help to continue to provide opportunities to develop physical fitness skills, express courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of talents, skills, and friendships with their families, friends, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community at no cost to the athlete.
